Beautiful and Functional Czech Storm Lantern – Meva 863 (1980)

A charming and fully usable Czech storm lantern, model Meva 863, made in Czechoslovakia in 1980. It is in beautifully painted condition and fully operational.

This model succeeded the well‑known BAT 158 and is still highly practical thanks to its solid build quality. The production date — first quarter of 1980 — is stamped on the bottom. I normally strip old lanterns back to bare metal, but this one still has its original factory paint, so I left it untouched. The tank cap features a lovely Meva logo.

Naturally, it shows light signs of age, which only add to its character. A great addition to any collection, but also perfectly suitable for actual use — indoors, in the garden, or on camping trips.
